Pierre Patricio (b. 1960 in Dumalag, Capiz, Philippines) has been a full-time visual artist since 1993 after taking figurative drawing lessons at the Hellenic American Union in Athens, Greece. He studied Civil Engineering at the Western Institute of Technology and graduated in BSMT at the Iloilo Maritime Academy. In the span of his career, he has exhibited extensively throughout western and central Europe, Scandinavia and East Asia. He currently represents the Philippines in the United Buddy Bears World Tour Exhibition organised in aid of UNICEF since 2002, an ongoing project which has traveled across six continents captivating ca. 30 million spectators to date and raising over Ä2 million (US$2,230,000) for children in need as of 2015. He has actively participated in Singapore ís SG50 commemorations, among them the Great Egg Venture Charity Auction at Resorts World Sentosa. View Gallery
SininGapor is a loose collective of Singapore-based Filipino artists united by sporadic weekend meetings over good coffee, good food, cool toys, booze. Oh, and art. "Sining" is the Filipino word for art, while "Gapor" is a colloquial term that most Filipinos use to refer to Singapore. Merging the two words represent how we relate our identities, ideas, and crafts as Filipino artists to our collective/personal experiences in this island nation.
