John Ian Lee Fulgar

A national scholar from the Philippine Science High School and a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Architecture, John Ian Lee Fulgar is a unique synthesis of technology and the arts. He joined Architects61 of Singapore in 2011 and was involved with diversified LEED and Greenmark mixed development mega-project working with worldwide industry consultants such as Skidmore Owings & Merrill of New York, Arup, Meinhardt, Cicada, Wilson Associates, and Davis Langdon & Seah. He is now managing his own architectural firm and construction company in the Philippines in promoting for local designs, cultural identities, smarter and greener buildings for sustainable communities and environment. 

With over ten-year experience in software technology developing both front-end UI and server side systems, Ian Fulgar easily leverages on a wide variety of parametric building information modelling technologies for design making, planning, analysis, and related architectural simulations developing solutions for better performance to validating design intentions.

Ian's enduring love for arts and architecture inspires him to continually explore various doctrines and fundamentals of art and design making from traditional subjects to the use of digital techniques in paintings and other mediums of expressions. He investigates criticisms with theories in contemporary art and architecture while currently pursuing graduate studies in the College of Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines - Diliman with a thesis on the ekphrasis of modern architecture as an art inquiry. 

Ian is active in the art scene and holds a number of art shows and exhibits with other artists and galleries in the Philippines with art works acquired for select private collections.
